Matthew T. Waters

MATTHEW T. WATERS received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1998. Mr. Waters received his Juris Doctor degree in 2002 from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Mr. Waters was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2002 and admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 2011.  Before attending law school, Mr. Waters was employed in the chemical industry as an analytical chemist and also performed colon cancer investigations at a leading research university. Mr. Waters worked for nine years as an assistant county prosecutor and has extensive litigation experience.

Mr. Waters’ practice covers all aspects of patents and trademarks, including filing, prosecution, infringement, validity, right to use, prior art searching and evaluations, and general counseling and opinions on intellectual property law. Areas of expertise and interest include enamels, mechanical and electrical arts, household and kitchen tools, ceramics, polymers, cosmetics, adhesives, and related processing and chemical matters.
