Jack D. Gau

JACK D. GAU received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati in 2005 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Akron in 2010. Mr. Gau is a member of the Ohio Bar and is licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Gau is a member of the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association and the Cleveland Bar Association.

Mr. Gau has worked extensively in the electrical, software, and computer science arts. In particular, Mr. Gau has experience with a wide array of technologies, such as automotive systems and components; semiconductor fabrication, manufacturing, testing, and programming; and a variety of software oriented applications, such as data processing, data transfer and communications, file management, and information security. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Gau worked as a product engineer developing test methodologies for semiconductor final test. Mr. Gau’s practice is primarily focused on preparation and prosecution of U.S. patent applications. Mr. Gau has considerable experience with technical writing, as well as advising foreign counsel on related aspects of preparation and prosecution. Mr. Gau also provides legal opinions including infringement, validity, and patentability of inventive concepts. Mr. Gau speaks Mandarin.
