YAYOI M. ROMANS received her Bachelor of Art in International Comparative Law, from Rikkyo University in Japan in 2009 and Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, summa cum laude, from Kent State University in 2017. While pursuing her second degree at Kent State University, she received Chemistry and Biochemistry Undergraduate Excellent Award. Ms. Romans is licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Ms. Romans has extensive experience in assisting in the prosecution of patent applications in the U.S. and Japan in the fields of chemical and electro-mechanical inventions. She has assisted in the prosecution of patent applications in the following technologies: organic/inorganic chemistry, e.g., pharmaceutical chemistry, material chemistry, agricultural chemistry; electrolytic solutions, secondary batteries; medical/cosmetic products; semiconductor devices, semiconductor materials, and semiconductor processing; biotechnology, e.g., gene and protein for cancer therapy and diagnosis; automotive systems; and software oriented applications. Ms. Romans has experience with Japanese-English and English-Japanese translations of patent applications, Office actions and Japanese court decisions. Ms. Romans is native Japanese speaker.
